We are proud to offer equine massage therapy in Portland Oregon and surrounding cities. We've been providing human and equine bodywork since 2004, and have national certification for LMT (OBMT) and Equissage, America's first nationally recognized Equine Sports Massage Therapy (ESMT) Certification Program.
Horse Massage therapy is a non-invasive, preventative, and corrective tool that may extend the athletic span of your horse, and increase your winning potential.
Areas commonly affected in the horse’s muscular structure are the glutes, hips, neck, chest, legs, and back. Through a series of soft tissue manipulations, massage may restore these tissues to their normal length and function.
Techniques such as compression, effleurage, tapotement, cross-fiber friction, and direct pressure can decrease pain, muscle tension or fatigue, swelling, lactic acid, or other excess fluids or toxins in the body, and increase flexibility, muscle tone, circulation of lymph, blood and oxygen and metabolism as well.
A one hour full-body horse massage will provide better balance, coordination, performance and overall better disposition in your horse. Chronic problems may be reduced or resolved. Massage provides a natural endorphin release and speeds the healing process, therefore reducing lay-up time.
Although therapeutic massage is considered an alternative medicine, it is not a substitute for traditional veterinary medicine. If you suspect injury, illness, or disease, please consult your vet.
A handler, provided by you, may be required. Upon completion of each massage, payment is to be made in the form of cash or check. Credit cards or I.O.U.’s are not accepted.
I may be reached by phone from 8 am to 8pm at (5o3)356-0377 if you would like to make an appointment. Please leave a message if no answer as I may be with a client.
